Russia's invasion of Ukraine could force 4 million Ukrainians to flee their country. The United Nations said this week. This could lead to Europe's worst refugee crisis in 60 years.

As of Saturday morning, more than 150,000 Ukrainians had crossed the border into neighboring countries, according to Filippo Grandi, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. Of these, an estimated 75,000 enter Poland.

On Saturday morning, Grandi tweeted that the number of internally displaced people inside Ukraine was "increasing, but that the military situation has made it difficult to estimate the exact number and provide assistance."

In addition to Poland, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary have relaxed border restrictions on the Kovid-19, allowing Ukrainian people fleeing Russian aggression to enter the country. The Polish government has announced the opening of the border, saying it would not want to see any official documents.

According to the AP, the queue of waiting vehicles at the Polish-Ukrainian border near Medica, Poland, has become 15 kilometers long.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban told a news conference this week that Hungary would allow refugees to enter even if they did not have documents. Prime Minister Orban is one of the main European allies of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Thousands of refugees have already entered Hungary through the 85-mile border between Hungary and Ukraine. Hungary also said on Saturday that it would not oppose any sanctions against Russia.

Earlier this week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky imposed a travel ban on any man of military age. As a result, most of the refugees leaving the country are women, children and the elderly.

In the United States, meanwhile, Biden's administration has asked Congress to approve 8.4 billion for Ukraine. Some of this money will also be spent on humanitarian assistance.
