An Indian student has been killed in a bomb blast in Ukraine. Today, the news was confirmed by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday. The incident took place in Kharkiv, Ukraine on Tuesday morning. The Foreign Ministry has contacted the family of the slain student.
It is learned that the deceased student, a resident of Haveri district of North Karnataka, was identified as Naveen Shekharappa Gyangudhar. Age 20. He was a student of medical college. That day he was standing in line at the store to buy necessities. That's when the bomb suddenly fell. The Foreign Ministry has expressed its condolences to the family of the slain student. They said Foreign Secretary Harshvardhan Sringla was already in touch with the foreign ministries of Russia and Ukraine. Indian students in Kharkiv and other war-torn cities in Ukraine have been officially asked to return home safely. The Indian ambassadors to Russia and Ukraine are making similar efforts at the highest levels.
