Russia's aggression is going on in Ukraine. When Russia launched its operation on February 24, they called it a "special military operation." As a result of the operation, more than one million Ukrainians have already been displaced. The number of casualties is increasing every hour. Meanwhile, Bangladesh's flagship 'Prosperity of Bengal' has come under rocket fire at the Ukrainian port of Alvia. The ship's third engineer died on the spot. Hadisur Rahman.
Meanwhile, an emergency session convened by the UN General Assembly to protest Russia's military intervention passed a resolution calling for an end to the Russian offensive. However, Bangladesh abstained from voting on the proposal. Out of 193 member states, 141 voted in favor of the resolution.
Thirty-five countries, including Bangladesh, India, China and Pakistan, abstained. On the other hand, five countries, including Russia, voted against the proposal. Belarus, North Korea, Eritrea and Syria voted against the General Assembly's resolution in favor of Russia.
